Industrial Electrician

*This opening is on the 3rd shift / night shift. 


Job Summary

Using electrical and mechanical skills to repair and complete preventative maintenance on various types of facility, warehouse, and manufacturing equipment to improve safety, quality, and productivity as measured by this company. Applies principles and techniques of National Electric Code (NEC), safety, and troubleshooting to accomplish goals.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in compliance with National Electric Code (NEC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and other requirements
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of all electrical control systems, variable frequency drives, power distribution systems, as well as the skills to read schematics and blueprints, use precision measuring and/or test equipment and special tools
  • Install or maintain electrical control systems or solid state equipment  Identify solutions to on-site technical problems involving electrical systems equipment
  • Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Collaborate with others to identify, define, or solve developmental problems
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Maintains records on repairs, down-time, changes, and updates
  • Ensure all safety process are precisely followed such as lock out, tag out
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
  • Responsible for calibration of production batching systems and scales
  • Proper use of all guards for tools and machinery
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Trade school or higher education in industrial electronics, electronic technology, or related field preferred
  • 5 years of hands on industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing, food processing, or similar environment
  • Knowledge of 3 phase motors, 480 voltage, and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Knowledge of Programmable Ladder Control (PLC), electronic controls, sensors, and troubleshooting of systems
  • Skill in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to perform all work within NEC, OSHA, GMP and other safety requirements
  • Ability to perform all work with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to read electrical and 1-wire diagrams


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
