Account Manager

Job Summary

Operating as the lead point of contact for day to day customer interactions, the account manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships.  Account management responsibilities include negotiating contracts and agreements, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders to assess and resolve customer requests.  Accounts managers liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams, to ensure the timely delivery of orders, according to customer needs and improve the entire customer experience. Our ideal candidate is able to identify customer needs and exceed client expectations. A successful Account manager should collaborate with our internal teams to achieve sales quotas and grow our business.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executes daily account management of assigned customers
  • Acts as primary liaison between Planning, QA, R&D, Customer Service, Distribution and Key Accounts regarding current customer orders, product revisions, and development and introduction of new products
  • Responds to customer inquiries, prepares quotations, develops promotional materials, and initiates product development projects
  • Tracks and reports on customer owned inventory
  • Identifies and establishes new customers within nutraceutical, confectionery, and specialty food manufacturers and distributors
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Project Management, or Food Technology
  • Advanced knowledge of account management and customer service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced organizational and analytical skills to evaluate opportunities, manage ongoing projects, and develop sales strategies
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Ability to effectively manage initiatives and projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to grow and develop client relationships

 

Physical Requirements

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
