Supply Chain Planner

Job Summary

Oversee the material requirements planning (MRP) for raw materials ingredients, components, and bulk commodity purchases in support of Santa Cruz Nutritionals’ (SCN) production schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • MRP planning and scheduling of open work orders to meet the production schedule
  • Maintain the Master Production Schedule(s) (MPS)
  • Proactively manage work orders to ensure order fulfillment, backorders, shortages, amendments, and/or materials do not delay SCN’s production
  • Manage flow of materials between supplier and plant to ensure materials are available for production and communicate any changes accordingly
  • Work with Purchasing Team to ensure inventory meets the demands and expedite/de-expedite materials to prevent shortages/overages
  • Maintain work order and purchase order data and current vendor data and pricing in the Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP)
  • Management of expiry dates of ingredients and decisions made on an on-going basis
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; College degree in a related field preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in MPR, Supply Chain, or Planner/Scheduler role
  • 3+ years inventory experience within a manufacturing environment required
  • Nutraceutical, Food & Beverage or Pharmaceuticals industry experience preferred
  • Experience with MRP systems required; AMAPS, JDA, SAP, and JDE preferred
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of supply chain planning and scheduling
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple tasks and projects with specific deadlines
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; SharePoint is a plus
  • Ability to proactively anticipate needs and create favorable outcomes
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Self-Starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Physical Requirements

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
