Junior Product Manager

Marketing and Sales - Santa Cruz, CA - Full Time

 

Job Summary

Assists in commercialization of new products and the management of a market-leading, US Retail product portfolio.  The Jr. Product Manager is responsible for maintenance of existing products while helping senior managers with new product launches.  This role acts as the primary liaison between our Operations and Sales & Marketing teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • New item set-up including input of product specifications into retailer portals and internal data management systems, Regulatory label reviews, and management of retail production samples.
  •  Product maintenance including management of product formulation, label, and claims changes and update of associated systems and forms.
  • Respond to retailer and distributor inquiries including supplier questionnaires, product specifications, stability data, samples, Certificate of Analysis (COA), Quality Assurance (QA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audit reports, Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA), lab test results, item features & benefits etc.
  • Coordinate shipment of booth supplies and product samples to retail sales team and trade shows. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Food Science, or other technically-related field.
  • Experience in Consumer Products industry, supporting US Retail Customers in the Food, Drug, Mass, and/or Club channels a plus.
  • Must be able to coordinate diverse activities and have strong organizational skills
  • Good communications skills and the ability to work well with others
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business productivity applications, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives while working in fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
